Mount Sheridan Plaza Celebrates 5 Years since Redevelopment
On the 5th September 2012 Mount Sheridan Plaza opened its doors after undergoing a $65 million dollar expansion.
The Green Group Pty Ltd choose to invest in revitalising the existing small regional shopping centre to accommodate the expected growth on the southern access corridor of Cairns.
Centre Manager Angela Liversage, said: “We have created a Major Regional Shopping Centre with the introduction of many national and local brands enhancing the food, fashion and retailer offers”
“The Centre has grown from strength to strength offering not only a variety of retail but also forming a hub for all community groups” says Mrs Liversage.
Kay Judd Marketing and Customer Experience Manager says “Over the past 5 years we have had a strong focus on community in supporting many local initiatives and creating some of our own, in that of The Community Markets, Walking Group, 50+ Club and Small Steps.
On average the centre as a whole caters for approximately 500 jobs in peak retail seasons. Over the last 5 years the centre has been anchored by its major tenants Coles, Woolworths and Kmart. Having both national names alongside family businesses and a good selection of services, to fit with the Centres catch phrase and brand tagline “for things you need and more”
With most of its tenants resigning leases for the next 5 years the centre has just installed solar power and Centre Manager Angela Liversage believes the growth will continue into the future.
The development has introduced and brought many brands to the south side of Cairns further complimenting the existing major retailers in the centre.
Angela said, “We are pleased to have recently welcomed Optus and Williams Shoes which are major drawcards for our customer offering with national leading brands showing confidence within the Cairns region.”
The transformed centre includes 65 retail outlets with a range of food and dining offers including, cafes, a restaurant precinct, food court, an extensive school holiday program and entertainment for the whole family.
This Saturday September 9 from 10:00am to 2:00pm Mount Sheridan Plaza are giving back to their loyal shoppers, the community and retailers through a number of special events, promotions and offers.
