Community Library, Community Hub & Book Exchange Table
Mt Sheridan Plaza is proud to provide THREE community book spaces where shoppers can relax, connect, and share the joy of reading. The motto is simple: “Take, Swap, Donate!”
Community Hub
Located near Kmart, the Community Hub incorporates several Book Exchange shelves along with a welcoming Community Lounge space where visitors can take some time out, catch up with friends, enjoy free daily newspapers, keep children entertained with wall puzzles, and browse a wide selection of free books.
Community Library
Located opposite The Reject Shop, our Community Library offers the centre’s largest collection of donated books for visitors to browse, borrow, read and return.
Formerly a shoe store, the tenancy provided the perfect opportunity to create a larger library-style space complete with excellent shelving, comfortable seating areas, a children’s maze, and a giant Connect Four game for families to enjoy.
Book Exchange Table
The spot where it all started, the original Book Exchange Table at the western entry replaced our initial shelves and remains one of our most popular community spaces. Conveniently located near Coles, it’s the perfect spot for shoppers to pick up their next read or leave a book behind for someone else to enjoy.
How It Works
All three book spaces operate as part of the same community initiative and rely on the generosity of our local community.
Simply:
- Take a book to read
- Return it when you’re finished
- Swap it for another
- Donate books in good condition for others to enjoy
You don’t need to leave a book to take a book — we have plenty to share around!
So whether you’re searching for your next great novel, looking to pass on a favourite book, or simply taking a break during your shopping trip, our community book spaces are here for everyone to enjoy.
If you have books to donate, please drop them into the Community Library or leave them outside Centre Management.
Together, we’re helping create a stronger, more connected community — one book at a time.
