Two hundred choir singers from local Primary School, Hambledon Primary School, Bentley Park College, St Therese’s School, and St Francis Xaviers’s School will compete in “Sounds like Christmas” a children’s Christmas choir competition on stage for a massed choir spectacular at Mount Sheridan Plaza on Saturday November 26 from 9am.
“Sounds like Christmas is about bringing together our community through music, a unique opportunity for singers and schools all over Cairns to be part of this stunning event,” Marketing Manager Kay Judd said.
“We are especially excited about this event as it offers local primary schools and students a unique experience where they get to show off their skills and strive to win the top prize of $1,000, with $500 to 2nd and $250 to 3rd place.” Says Kay.
Christmas at the Plaza
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Mount Sheridan Plaza are getting their customers into the Christmas spirit this year with Santa in his NEW magical garden, Christmas markets, competitions, gift wrapping, extended trade and stellar Christmas promotions in the lead up to the big day.
Santa Arrives for Photos – In residence in Santa’s magical garden in centre court from Saturday November 26 from 9am to 1pm. Families will enjoy getting interactive with Santa in the new amazingly themed photo sets, with fully themed laser cut props to interact and pose with, a custom queue system and free gifts for every child. “Guests will be delighted to have special time with Santa and enjoy the exciting interactive Santa Photo Experience and become part of the scene with an enhanced Santa’s workshop and props ” Says Marketing Manager Kay Judd.
In addition, on Sunday December 4 from 8am-9am the Plaza has introduced a Sensory Santa photo session offered no background music or spotlights, a wheelchair-friendly set up and there will be no queues as all families booked an allocated session time.
Christmas Markets – Enjoy the Mount Sheridan Plaza Christmas Markets on Sunday December 11 and 18 from 9am -3pm. Come along and celebrate the holiday season with your community and the opportunity to pursue local handmade items.
Santa’s Scan and WIN –
Mount Sheridan Plaza are offering shoppers the opportunity to share in $5,000 in cash and prizes with their 10 Days of Christmas Giveaways! WIN a whole host of gifts, in collaboration with some of the favourite retailer brands.
Marketing Manager Kay Judd said she was excited to give customers the opportunity to pick their own prize.
Christmas Gift Wrap – This year, every gift will be sure to shine under your tree! The talented volunteers from Cancer Council Queensland will perfectly prepare your gift in exchange for a gold coin donation. The Christmas gift-wrapping booth is located outside Kmart from Saturday 3rd December to Saturday 24th December.
