Mount Sheridan Plaza in conjunction with The Salvation Army are encouraging Cairns locals to connect with their community this Christmas. Each year The Salvation Army pack thousands of Christmas Hampers which will be distributed locally to disadvantaged and low income families in Far North Queensland.
From Monday December 2 to Friday December 13 Mount Sheridan Plaza are offering you the chance to help make Christmas special for those in need. Encouraging shoppers on their next visit to the Plaza to place an additional non perishable item in your trolley and drop in it the crate on the way out!
“It’s that simple, if you could spare a couple of dollars and pay if forward I can guarantee it will give you a sense of happiness and fulfilment,” Says Marketing and Customer Experience Manager Kay Judd.
At Christmas, the Salvos will serve more than 100,000 meals, distribute more than 500,000 gifts and toys and support more than 70,000 families in need. But we can only do this with the support of the Australian public.
In additional to the Christmas Appeal, The Salvation Army are the nominated Charity partner for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in which you can donate a gift and place it under the tree at any local Kmart store.
Donations can include Christmas goodies such as canned leg ham, Christmas cake, pudding & custard along with a range of staple foods such as pasta, cereal, canned fruit & vegetables.
